Association of NGOs, CEOs in Nigeria Issues Stern Warning to Grant Handlers, Demands Immediate Payment to Subscribers
By our Correspondent
The National President of the Association of NGOs, CEOs in Nigeria, Amb. Dr. Paschal Anyanwu, has issued a strong warning to grant handlers, urging them to present their documentation and proof of funds over delays in the disbursement of grants to subscribers.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Amb.
According to him, nineteen days into the new year 2026, subscribers are yet to receive their money. He stressed that grant handlers must publicly explain the reasons for the delay, noting that many of them often shift the blame to the Federal Government. He said the association now intends to approach the Federal Government directly, submitting the names and photographs of the grant handlers to enable them appear before the appropriate authorities to account for the situation.
Amb. Dr. Anyanwu warned that subscribers would no longer tolerate excuses from handlers who lack proof of available funds. He insisted that such handlers must either refund all monies collected from subscribers or be prepared to face the consequences of their actions.
He further stated that the association had exercised patience and conducted extensive investigations, cautioning that their calm disposition should not be mistaken for weakness. He emphasized that grant handlers must be ready to explain to Nigerians why subscribers have not received their funds.
He added that the association was prepared to take decisive action, stressing that the funds in question represent the hard-earned money of subscribers. He noted that many families have been adversely affected by the prolonged delay, urging anyone in possession of the funds to come forward and give a clear explanation.
Amb. Dr. Anyanwu also advised members of the Association of NGOs, CEOs in Nigeria to ensure they have their proof of payment readily available and to refrain from issuing false or misleading updates that could further misinform Nigerians.
He used the occasion to formally alert security and anti-graft agencies—including the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID)—that the association would be reporting the matter of unpaid grants after years of subscription.
