The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd), on Friday night acknowledged that Nigeria is currently facing numerous challenges but reassured citizens that the nation’s ongoing journey through difficult times would ultimately culminate in a glorious outcome.
He gave the assurance while speaking at this year’s edition of the “Special Abuja Power Touch” programme, hosted by Pastor Matthew Morakinyo and his wife, Pastor Mary Morakinyo of God’s City International Church (GCIC).

The event, themed “All-Round Settlement,” took place at the Velodrome of the National Stadium, Abuja. General Musa emphasized that no individual or group would be permitted to destroy Nigeria.
According to him, “We must stand united against all enemies of Nigeria. We have a President who is doing his utmost to keep the country united and strong. Let us continue steadfastly in prayer for the unity and survival of our beloved nation.

“Many evil forces do not wish Nigeria well, but one thing is certain — the Almighty God will bring them to shame.”
General Musa, who served as the 18th Chief of Defence Staff from June 23, 2023, to October 30, 2025, before his nomination as Defence Minister on December 4, 2025, by President Bola Tinubu, said the grace of God had sustained him throughout his journey.
“This is my first time attending this wonderful congregation. I was not aware the programme would hold today until Pastor Israel visited my office earlier today (February 27, 2026) and insisted that I attend.
“I am delighted to see two retired Major Generals here who were my mentors in the Army. I want to state clearly that I am a child of God, not only in words but in action. My being here today is solely by God’s mercy,” he said.
Standing beside General Musa on the pulpit, Pastor Morakinyo offered prayers for Nigeria and President Tinubu, declaring that insurgency in the country had come to an end and proclaiming that lasting stability would take root nationwide.
Using the Defence Minister as a symbolic point of contact for Nigeria’s destiny, Pastor Morakinyo prayed for peace across the land and asked that General Musa would remain steadfast in his service to God.
