Barber Reveals He Survived Robbery Attack by Pretending to Be Dead After Being Shot – Olafeso
According to a report by The Punch on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Duuni Olafeso, a resident of the Cele Nica community in Ojo Local Government Area, Lagos State, shared how a barber survived a brutal armed robbery attack by pretending to be dead after being shot.
The report stated that the robbers stormed the area around 9 p.m. and headed straight to a barber’s shop, where several people were present. Gunshots soon echoed through the neighborhood, prompting residents to rush to the scene, only to find victims lying in a pool of blood.
Olafeso explained that the attack was carried out by about three assailants. According to the barber, who is currently receiving treatment in the hospital, two of the robbers entered the shop posing as customers. They ordered everyone to lie down and began collecting money and mobile phones.
Trouble began when one of the victims, identified as Chijindu, told the robbers he had only ₦1,000 for his haircut. The third robber, who stood guard at the entrance, reportedly became furious and instructed his accomplices to “waste them.”
The barber recounted that the robbers immediately opened fire, hitting all three victims. He said he was shot in the back but pretended to be dead to avoid being killed.
“The barber said the bullets hit all three of them, but he pretended to be dead after he was shot in the back,” Olafeso narrated.
Efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, for comments were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
