Benue APC Chairman Omale Applauds Tinubu, Alia for Supporting INEC Boss Amupitan

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has commended Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for identifying with and attending the inauguration of the newly appointed National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Chief Omale said Governor Alia has demonstrated a rare understanding of progressive leadership and competence—qualities embodied by Professor Amupitan.
He lauded President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to ensuring free, fair, and credible elections in Nigeria.
Omale further praised Professor Amupitan’s appointment, describing him as a seasoned constitutional law expert and lawyer whose competence and merit stand out. He stated that the new INEC Chairman’s rich legal background and experience would greatly enhance his performance in office.
The Benue APC chairman expressed confidence that Professor Amupitan possesses the sense of justice, equity, and fairness required to effectively steer the affairs of the Commission.
He also commended Amupitan’s performance during his confirmation screening, expressing optimism that he will deliver credible elections in the future.
Omale urged all electoral stakeholders—security agencies, political parties, candidates, and the electorate—to adhere to INEC’s guidelines in support of the new National Chairman.
He reaffirmed the APC’s backing of Governor Alia’s alignment with President Tinubu’s reform agenda, which seeks to strengthen democratic processes and uphold credible election practices across the country.
