The Benue State Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening partnerships with key health development organizations as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery and advance HIV and other health programs across the state.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Paul Ogwuche, made this known while receiving a delegation from the AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria (APIN) Public Health Initiatives, led by its Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Programs, Dr. Jay Osi Samuels.
Dr. Ogwuche commended APIN for its long-standing collaboration and significant contributions to Benue’s health system, particularly in the areas of HIV prevention, treatment, and care. He acknowledged that APIN’s continued support has made a tangible impact on the lives of many residents.
He assured that the State Government, through the Ministry of Health, remains committed to delivering quality healthcare and sustaining key health interventions. According to him, the visit aligns with the renewed vision of Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia’s administration, which prioritizes healthcare revitalization, expanded access, and partnership-driven service delivery.
“Under the leadership of Governor Alia, the Ministry is focused on repositioning the health sector for greater efficiency, accountability, and results. Collaborations such as this one with APIN are vital to achieving our shared goal of quality healthcare for every Benue citizen,” Ogwuche stated.
In his remarks, APIN’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Jay Osi Samuels, praised the Ministry for its proactive leadership and commitment to combating HIV/AIDS and improving overall public health outcomes. He noted that Benue State has demonstrated remarkable dedication in addressing HIV and other health challenges, assuring that APIN will continue to provide technical assistance, data support, and community-based interventions to sustain progress and improve patient outcomes.
