Chris Akomas Re-elected as Chairman, Forum of Former Deputy Governors

The Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria has re-elected Dr. Chris Akomas as its National Chairman for another three-year term.
The re-election, which took place during the Forum’s General Meeting and Congress in Abuja, also featured the inauguration of new executive members who will serve alongside Dr.
Akomas over the next three years.In his acceptance speech, Dr. Akomas expressed deep appreciation to members of the Forum for the confidence reposed in him and the newly elected executives. He assured members of his team’s commitment to consolidating the Forum’s achievements and strengthening its contributions to good governance and national development.

“We hereby accept today’s task of continuing to serve the Forum. We promise to do our best, but we also appeal for your continued support because, without it, achieving much will be difficult,” he stated.
Reflecting on the Forum’s milestones, Dr. Akomas cited the establishment of the Renewed Hope Agenda Peer Review Group as one of its significant accomplishments. He pledged that the new executive would sustain the momentum by collaborating with relevant authorities, technical experts, and stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of its goals.
“We are prepared to continue to serve the Forum and our country, Nigeria,” he affirmed. “With God’s mercy, we will deliver even better than before.”
Dr. Akomas acknowledged the dedication of the outgoing executive and thanked members for recognizing their efforts as deserving of continuity. He also extended appreciation to his colleagues, members of the press, security personnel, and the Forum’s secretariat for their tireless support throughout the election process.
Commending the outgoing executives for their sacrifice and teamwork, the re-elected Chairman described their contributions as instrumental to advancing the Forum’s vision.
He further called for unity and active participation among members, emphasizing that the new executive would prioritize greater attendance and engagement in the Forum’s activities.
“This new executive has been tasked with the responsibility to ensure that our members attend more meetings,” Dr. Akomas added.
