Christian Parents Urged on Proper Upbringing of Girl Child as AGBA Promotes 17 Girls Auxiliary at First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja

The Girls Auxiliary (GA) of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, today held its 2025 Coronation Service with the theme “Help Through Waiting and Watching.”

At the ceremony, 15 members of the Girls Auxiliary were promoted to their next steps, while two others who successfully completed all seven steps were ceremoniously welcomed into Lydia, marking their continued service in God’s vineyard.

Those promoted include: Onifade Tabitha and Ayoola Wuraola (Step 1); Akinpelu Esther, Oladeji Oyindamola, Komolafe Favour, Simon Ayomikun, Oyelami Gloria, and Ogundapo Jemima (Step 2); Adegboyega Praise, Areo Deborah, and Okangbe Sarah (Step 3); James Funmilola Mercy and James Funmilayo Grace (Step 4); Ajao Damola and Simon Bola (Step 5); while Adegbile Faith and Taiwo Success were elevated to Step 7.

Performing the coronation, the GA Director of Amazing Grace Baptist Association (AGBA), Mrs. Tayo Adedeji, explained that the promotion followed the successful completion of examinations conducted in line with the guidelines of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC). She admonished the girls to uphold Baptist doctrines, remain steadfast in faith and prayer, and continue striving toward greater heights in life.

In his message on the theme, Reverend Deji Oyelami, Minister in charge of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, congratulated the newly promoted GA members and urged them not to deviate from the values of the coronation. He further encouraged them to be good ambassadors of their families, remain dedicated to both spiritual and educational growth, and contribute positively to society.

According to him, the Church will continue to introduce programmes that will nurture young girls into becoming worthy vessels in God’s vineyard and in the larger community.

Highlights of the event included the promotion of the GA members, the ceremonial induction of Adegbile Faith and Taiwo Success into Lydia, and a special thanksgiving marking the Centenary Celebration of the Girls Auxiliary in the Nigerian Baptist Convention.
