DAILY WHISPERS OF WISDOM DAY ONE “Treating God As A Lover, Not A Doubler”
It may not be intentional, yet often this is what we do. We give not always from love, adoration, and reverence but from the subtle expectation that what we give will return to us doubled.
Yes, it is good to give when called upon.
It is also good to give intentionally, with purpose and faith.
But it is best to give as an expression of love.
Love does not calculate.
Love does not negotiate.
Love does not say, “I gave this, so what will I get back?”
When giving becomes transactional, God is reduced to a multiplier someone who exists to increase our seed.
But when giving flows from devotion, God is embraced as a Lover One worthy of honor, affection, and spontaneous sacrifice.
The purest giving is:
Unpressured
Unannounced
Unattached to expectations
Unmoved by applause
Unconcerned about returns
It is giving simply because the heart overflows.
Be a self-motivated giver—one who does not wait to be called out before responding.
Be a creative giver one who looks around, discerns where help is needed, and willingly steps forward to solve it.
Do not wait until your emotions are touched, massaged, and stirred before you remember to give.
Love does not wait for a microphone.
Love does not wait for public appeal.
Love does not wait for tears to flow before it moves.
Just as a loving husband blesses his wife not waiting for her to beg, complain, or qualify for affection so should our giving toward God’s work flow from delight, not demand.
We give because we love Him.We give because He first loved us.We give because His work matters to us. And here is the mystery: those who give out of love never truly lack not because they calculated increase, but because love aligns them with the heart of God.
For “The Lord loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
And where love leads, provision follows.
