Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Board of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC), has conveyed heartfelt New Year wishes to Nigerians, reassuring the populace of better days ahead under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

Dogara said he is confident that 2026 will represent a significant turning point for the country, driven by ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the economy and enhancing the wellbeing of citizens. He noted that the present administration has already established strong foundations for sustainable growth and national stability, and encouraged Nigerians to approach the new year with renewed hope and a spirit of unity.
He stated that Nigerians should anticipate tangible improvements in key sectors including security, economic empowerment, infrastructure development, agriculture, digital innovation, and social investment initiatives. According to him, institutions such as the NCGC are expected to expand access to credit for small and medium-scale enterprises, while continued investments in roads, railways, and power projects will improve connectivity and stimulate productivity. He also highlighted agricultural reforms targeted at boosting food security, digital programmes designed to equip youths with technological skills, and strengthened social safety nets to assist vulnerable groups.
Dogara explained that these measures demonstrate the administration’s resolve to build an inclusive Nigeria where opportunities are accessible to all. He commended the government for its resilience and foresight, adding that efforts to diversify the economy and strengthen democratic institutions are setting the stage for long-term prosperity.
“Our greatest strength as a people is found in our unity, resilience, and belief in a better tomorrow,” Dogara said. “As we welcome the New Year, let us remain optimistic, confident that together we can attain greater heights.”
