Don’t present Al lesson notes to me— NSUBEB chairman Warns Nasarawa Primary School Teachers

Executive Chairmanp Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, NSUBEB, Dr Kassim Muh’d Kassim has warned primary school Teachers in Nasarawa state against dependence on Artificial Intelligence notes for the pupils.

Dr Kassim said the growing dependence on Artificial Intelligence (AI) by Primary School teachers in Nasarawa State to prepare lesson notes for the pupils was fast posing serious concern for the educational system in the state.

Dr Kassim raise the concern when he led management team of the board to interact with some selected primary school teachers participating in a workshop on the ‘Sub -Sahara Education Fund (SEF) Literacy Project’ taking place at Awa Diamond Hotel Kwandere Road, Lafia.

He said that AI generated lesson notes can’t give the pupils the best, noting that using AI to compose lesson notes for primary school pupils give room for laziness on the part of teachers and undermines academic standards and integrity.

He urged primary school teachers to always have it at the back of their minds that the basic education sub-sector is the foundation stage of a child and analytical work plan is what they need at their stage to groom the pupils well.

The workshop focus on using technology to improve foundational literacy skills, enhanced literacy skills in primary one pupils through technology base solutions.

Other areas of focus includes teaching upskills, upgrading teachers skills to effective utilize technology and improve literacy instructions.
