Troops engaged in ongoing military operations have raided terrorist camps in parts of Edu, Ifelodun and Patigi local government areas of Kwara State, killing dozens of kidnappers and terrorists.
The development was disclosed on Saturday in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye.

According to the statement, the military operation targeted bandits’ camps operated by notorious kidnappers and terrorists who had established hideouts in Baba Sango in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Gbugbu in Edu Local Government Area, and Lata in Patigi Local Government Area.
“It is obvious that Operation India has thrown the bandits into disarray and forced them out of their positions,” Ajakaye said, citing preliminary security reports from the operation’s theatre.
He, however, noted that the success of the operations was being hampered by the activities of moles and informants within some communities who provide information on troop movements to the criminals.
A military source also confirmed that several bandits’ camps had been destroyed during the operations, while many of the criminals sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The source urged residents of affected communities to remain vigilant and report individuals suspected of aiding the bandits.
“Residents need to be vigilant and speak up against informants who leak information about troop movements. This is crucial to achieving greater success,” the source said.
