FAAC Disburses N1.969trn December Revenue to FG, States, LGs
The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total of N1.969 trillion among the Federal Government, state governments, and local government councils as December 2025 Federation Account Revenue.
The allocation was approved at the January 2026 FAAC meeting held in Abuja.
According to a communiqué issued on Monday, February 2, by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Bawa Mokwa, the total distributable revenue of N1.
FAAC disclosed that total gross revenue of N2.585 trillion was generated in December 2025. From this amount, N104.697 billion was deducted as cost of collection, while N511.585 billion went into transfers, refunds, and savings.
The committee revealed that gross statutory revenue of N1.631 trillion was recorded in December 2025, representing a decline of N105.202 billion compared to the N1.736 trillion received in November 2025.
In contrast, gross VAT revenue rose significantly to N913.957 billion in December 2025, an increase of N350.915 billion from the N563.042 billion recorded in November 2025.
From the N1.969 trillion total distributable revenue, the Federal Government received N653.500 billion, while state governments got N706.469 billion.
Local government councils received N513.272 billion, and N96.083 billion, representing 13 percent of mineral revenue, was shared among beneficiary states as derivation revenue.
Out of the N1.084 trillion distributable statutory revenue, FAAC stated that the Federal Government received N520.807 billion, states received N264.160 billion, and local governments got N203.656 billion, while N96.083 billion was allocated to oil-producing states as derivation revenue.
From the N846.507 billion VAT revenue, the Federal Government received N126.976 billion, state governments received N423.254 billion, and local government councils received N296.277 billion.
Regarding the N38.110 billion EMTL revenue, FAAC disclosed that the Federal Government received N5.717 billion, states got N19.055 billion, while local governments received N13.338 billion.
The committee further noted that in December 2025, Companies Income Tax (CIT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Stamp Duties (STD), Import Duty, and VAT recorded significant increases, while Oil and Gas Royalty, CET Levies, and Fees rose marginally.
However, Excise Duty, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT)/Hydrocarbon Tax (HT), and EMTL experienced notable declines during the period.
