FCT: Gwagwalada Central Councillor Awards JAMB Scholarships to Over 100 Students

The Councillor representing Gwagwalada Central Ward in the Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar-Nas, has awarded JAMB scholarships to more than one hundred senior secondary school students in Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Speaking at the scholarship presentation ceremony, Alhaji Abubakar-Nas explained that the beneficiaries were selected from Government Secondary School and Government Day Secondary School, both located in Gwagwalada, Abuja.

The Councillor, who also serves as the Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the House Committee on Education in the Gwagwalada Area Council, said the initiative was aimed at easing the financial burden on parents and supporting the educational advancement of students in the area.
He noted that the scholarship scheme was carried out in collaboration with the APC Chairmanship Candidate for Gwagwalada in the forthcoming FCT Area Council Election, Alhaji Usman Yahaya. He urged the beneficiaries to remain dedicated to their studies in order to secure a brighter future.
Alhaji Abubakar-Nas, who is also the APC Councillorship Candidate for Gwagwalada Central Ward in next month’s Area Council Election, reaffirmed his commitment to promoting educational growth and development within the ward.
An alumnus of Government Day Secondary School, Gwagwalada, the Councillor further encouraged the students to always conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of their families and communities.
In his remarks, the APC Chairmanship Candidate, Alhaji Usman Yahaya, promised to prioritise education if elected in the upcoming Area Council Election. He also pledged to implement people-oriented projects and drive rural development if entrusted with the mandate.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Councillor for Gwagwalada Central Ward, Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar-Nas, and the APC Chairmanship Candidate, Alhaji Usman Yahaya, for the initiative. They said the JAMB scholarship would significantly support their aspirations of pursuing higher education.
