In a firm effort to protect the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Masterplan, Minister Barr. Wike has directed the immediate demolition of an illegal development in Guzape District, underlining the administration’s strict stance against land grabbing and unauthorized construction.

During his inspection of the site, Barr. Wike expressed strong disapproval over the blatant violation of regulations, stating, “This place was given as a green area, but from what we are seeing now, they want to develop it into an estate which is a violation.” He emphasized that the administration will take swift action against individuals and developers who break the law, noting that “the law must be obeyed to maintain the integrity of the city.”
The Minister also criticized the reported involvement of civil servants in land-grabbing schemes, stressing that such misconduct would not be tolerated. “People will use different strategies to get land from government, but at the end of the day, they will do a different thing. So, we have to demolish it and we are also going to withdraw the approval he has because it was not given to him to develop an estate,” he declared.
Barr. Wike’s decisive action has earned praise from citizens and stakeholders, who commend his commitment to preserving the FCT Masterplan and promoting sustainable urban development. The administration’s firm stance is expected to deter attempts to exploit the system for personal gain.
The FCT Minister’s office has assured the public that it will continue to act decisively against land grabbers and unauthorized developers, regardless of their influence or connections.
