FCT: NSCDC Unveils New Operational Outpost in Lugbe
By Iyojo Ameh
The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has inaugurated a newly built and fully equipped outpost in Lugbe, Abuja, to strengthen security operations in the area.
The facility, located within Leisure Court Estate and donated by Leisure Court Limited, is aimed at boosting surveillance, enhancing community engagement, and improving rapid response within the estate and its environs.
While commissioning the outpost, Dr. Odumosu described the development as a major step toward improving the Corps’ presence and effectiveness in safeguarding lives and property in the FCT. He emphasized that the outpost would serve as a base for NSCDC officers to support neighborhood watch efforts and collaborate with local residents.
He expressed deep gratitude to the Chairman/CEO of Leisure Court Limited, Mr. Segun Abolaji, for the generous donation, noting that it would significantly improve the Command’s operational capacity.
Dr. Odumosu also called on residents and stakeholders to cooperate with security agencies to build a safer and more secure environment for all.
In his remarks, Mr. Abolaji stated that the donation was his own way of contributing to the security of the community, adding that as a civilian who cannot carry arms, supporting the Corps was the next best way to make a meaningful impact.
