FCT Police Commissioner Dantawaye Deepens Community Policing With Visits to Durumi IDP Camp, Mpape Community

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, has intensified the Command’s community policing strategy with strategic visits to the Durumi Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp and the Mpape community.
The engagement tour, conducted on Monday, November 24, 2025, forms part of ongoing efforts by the FCT Police Command to strengthen public trust, improve collaboration, and enhance security management across local communities.
The update was issued by SP Josephine Adeh, Anipr, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Police Command, Abuja, on 25th November 2025.
During interactive sessions with residents, communities in both Durumi and Mpape expressed appreciation for the improved police presence and the increased responsiveness to security concerns witnessed in recent months. They also identified areas where sustained support and intervention were needed to ensure long-term stability.
Addressing residents, CP Dantawaye reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to delivering professional, accountable, and community-driven policing services. He noted that effective security is a shared responsibility built on mutual trust, transparent communication, and active public partnership. He encouraged residents to consistently engage the police and to provide reliable information that could help prevent crime and maintain peace.
The Commissioner also directed the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in charge of Durumi and Mpape to justify the confidence reposed in them by their communities. He urged them to prioritize improved service delivery and uphold the highest standards of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
