The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mallam Shehu Mohammed, has charged Special Marshals to remain strategic partners by leveraging their collective resourcefulness to ensure safer roads and improved traffic management across Nigeria.

He made the call in Abuja during the Special Marshal National Summit themed “Special Marshals’ Strategic Role in Road Safety Administration.” The FRSC boss noted that Nigeria’s traffic challenges reflect a global reality and require collaborative efforts to address.

Mallam Mohammed urged all Nigerians—including road designers, engineers, policymakers, and stakeholders—to contribute towards strengthening road infrastructure and safety systems.

He praised the Special Marshals for complementing the work of regular marshals through their human and material contributions.

“Between 2020 and 2025, they have supported the Corps with infrastructure, vehicles, devices, and knowledge-sharing. They have also promoted road safety education, collaborated with stakeholders, and backed research that informed new policy decisions,” he said.

He added that the 2025 summit should inspire Special Marshals to deepen their commitment to FRSC operations, starting with the election of highly motivated executive committee members.

In her goodwill message, the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, commended the FRSC leadership and stakeholders, stressing that volunteerism plays a vital role in national development.
