Ghanaian Police Arrest Five Nigerian S*x Workers, Seven Others in Crime Crackdown

Police officers in Ghana have apprehended five Nigerian women allegedly involved in s*x work, according to the Asokwa District Police Command.

The arrests were made during a targeted swoop aimed at curbing criminal activities within the Asokwa Municipality in Ghana’s Ashanti Region.

A total of twelve individuals—seven males and five females—were arrested at various locations during the operation. The five women later admitted to engaging in prostitution as a means of livelihood.

The suspects identified themselves as Empress David, 22; Sonia Isaac, 24; Loveth Michael, 18; Success Moses, 21; and Victor Alice, 23.

“On 30/7/25, between the hours of 1800 and 2000, the Asokwa District Command embarked on a swoop exercise within Asokwa Municipality. During the operation, 12 persons were arrested,” the police statement confirmed.

It noted that “five of the suspects are female Nigerians who admitted to engaging in prostitution at Sokoban Wood Village.” All suspects are currently in police custody.

The seven men arrested were named as Jacob Amaliba, 30; Usif Awuro, 39; Adu Kofi, 22; Kwame Atobiga, 39; Isaac Boamah, 27; Emmanuel Boakye, 29; and Pekazine Puakan, 28.
