Governor Ododo Commends Kogi East Leaders, Commissions Development Projects in Ankpa

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Friday, July 26, 2025, expressed deep appreciation to political leaders from the Eastern Senatorial District for the warm and massive reception during his visit to Ankpa.

The Governor singled out his Deputy, Comrade Joel Oyibo, for mobilizing the large turnout of supporters who came to witness the commissioning of constituency projects executed by Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali, Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives and representative of Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Federal Constituency.

Governor Ododo commissioned several developmental projects facilitated by Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali, including erosion control structures, educational facilities, solar-powered boreholes, and other critical infrastructure.

He stated that the projects would improve mobility, sanitation, and overall quality of life, noting that development must be seen not as a luxury but a basic right of the people.

The Governor also praised Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali for his commitment to the growth of the Ankpa community and highlighted the strategic role of the ACReSAL project in addressing environmental, healthcare, infrastructure, and security challenges.

The ACReSAL (Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes) project, described as a transformative initiative, has made remarkable progress in tackling gully erosion and enhancing infrastructure in Ankpa under Governor Ododo’s administration. Notable accomplishments include:

Construction of 21 culverts at four gully heads

Installation of 332 pedestrian culverts

Development of 417 vehicular slabs

Establishment of a 22-kilometer drainage system

Completion of 11.5 kilometers of new road networks

Governor Ododo urged residents to safeguard these projects and foster unity across the state, stressing that collective progress depends on cooperation and shared purpose.

He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast support for Kogi State and pledged the state’s full backing in the 2027 general elections.

Commendation for Leadership

In his remarks, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali hailed Governor Ododo’s focused and people-centered leadership, especially in driving development in Ankpa and across the state. The Governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Salifu and other senior government officials during the tour and commissioning activities.
