JUST IN: Suspended APC Senator Gbenga Daniel Poised to Join PDP
Senator Gbenga Daniel, former Governor of Ogun State who was recently suspended by the All Progressives Congress (APC) over alleged anti-party activities, is reportedly on the verge of defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His suspension, alongside that of Kunle Folarin, was ratified last week by the APC State Working Committee under Chairman Chief Yemi Sanusi.
A close associate of the senator disclosed that the formal announcement of his switch to the PDP could come “any moment from now.”
Signs of the looming defection have already emerged in Iperu, Daniel’s hometown, where campaign billboards bearing his image now appear at the PDP’s office, underscoring his alignment with Hon. Ladi Adebutu’s campaign structure.
Political observers note that his move, if confirmed, would significantly alter the political dynamics in Ogun State and could reshape strategies ahead of the upcoming elections.
