Kwankwaso’s Son Steps Down as Kano Commissioner

The Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, has resigned from his position and withdrawn his membership from the Kano State Executive Council.
Mr. Kwankwaso announced his decision in a resignation letter released on [date], stating that he stepped aside with a “heavy heart,” thereby ending his service in the cabinet of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.


In the letter, the former commissioner expressed profound appreciation to Governor Yusuf for the opportunity to serve the people of Kano State, describing his time in office as both fulfilling and impactful.
“I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the privilege of serving the good people of Kano State. I value the experiences and lessons gained during my tenure and deeply appreciate the confidence reposed in me,” he said.
Mr. Kwankwaso also offered prayers for the continued welfare of young people across the state, calling for sustained commitment to youth empowerment and sports development initiatives.
“As I step down, I pray that the youth of Kano State will continue to receive the support and attention they deserve. I hope that our sports development programmes and initiatives will continue to thrive in the years ahead,” the letter added.
He further prayed for lasting peace and progress in the state, asking Allah (SWT) to bless Kano State and its people, while wishing the current administration success in its governance efforts.
Mr. Kwankwaso’s resignation represents another change within the Kano State Executive Council. No specific reason was provided for his decision beyond what was contained in the resignation letter.
