The Leadership Centre for Civil and Post-Trauma Rehabilitation, together with its affiliates, has expressed deep concern over what it described as unethical, immoral, and personal attacks by Omoyele Sowore against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking to journalists on Monday in Abuja, the General Secretary of the Centre, Dr.

Agbi Manzo Abubakar, said Sowore’s orchestrated assaults on the President’s character, integrity, and proven antecedents have crossed intolerable red lines, amounting to what he called an ultimate act of “political blasphemy.”

He noted that President Tinubu’s leadership represents a remarkable grass-to-grace success story. According to him, the President, through bold policy measures, has cleansed the “Augean stables” and emerged as a beacon of enlightenment in Nigeria’s governance landscape.

Dr. Abubakar further stated that Tinubu’s progressive strides and achievements have inspired Africa and the world, showcasing the possibility of a leadership renaissance on the continent.

“The President’s crafting of unequal governance templates, best administrative, accounting, and auditing practices has set a new benchmark for leadership. These templates will stand the test of time and serve as a model for effective governance. We therefore condemn, in the strongest terms, the disgraceful conduct of Omoyele Sowore—a perpetual presidential candidate who has consistently demonstrated his electoral irrelevance,” he said.

He stressed that Sowore’s “ill-advised campaign of defamation” has in the past targeted Ministers, the Inspector General of Police, leaders of the National Assembly, and respected Catholic clergy. According to him, the latest attacks on President Tinubu reflect “the behavior of a child without proper upbringing.”

The group, therefore, called for Sowore’s arrest, interrogation, and prosecution, insisting that freedom of expression must not infringe on the rights of other citizens. Dr. Abubakar urged the nation’s security agencies to act swiftly to deter “political adventurers, vultures, and buccaneers” from plunging Nigeria’s democratic project into chaos.

“At this juncture, we call on all Nigerians, from every social stratum, to join us in condemning these unwarranted attacks. Enough is enough! We must unite to protect the office of the President and safeguard our democracy from those who seek to undermine it,” he declared.

Reiterating the group’s strongest condemnation of Sowore’s actions, Dr. Abubakar emphasized that those responsible must be held accountable. He affirmed that the Leadership Centre for Civil and Post-Trauma Rehabilitation remains unwavering in its support for President Tinubu and his administration, vowing to continue defending the presidency against all forms of malicious attacks.
