LG secretary sack for supporting Ex IG Guber ambition in Nasarawa

The Chairman of Keffi local government council, Dr. Idris Ahmed Damagani has sacked the Council secretary, Dr Ibrahim Bala Moscolo as council secretary for allegedly backing the former Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu. Governorship ambition.

Moscolo, had recently taken sides with a former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, for the party ticket ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election in Nasarawa state.

This position, however, is against the zoning agitation by stakeholders of the ruling party in Nasarawa West, led by the former APC chairman Sen. Abdullahi Adamu.

Moscolo insisted on a level playing ground for all aspirants, against an agenda that had only served the interest of a few while the majority were without access to basic amenities.

It could be recalled that recently coordinator of the Nasarawa North Assembly group Hon. Isa Nathaniel JP, disclosed during a solidarity rally for ex-IGP warned that the APC stands to lose far more than temporary disagreements if it mishandles the 2027 governorship ticket.

Nathaniel noted that such a move could trigger deep-seated internal destabilisation capable of weakening the party’s electoral machinery.

According to the Assembly, sidelining Adamu would not only generate dissatisfaction among his supporters but could also fracture carefully built political coalitions that have taken several election cycles to consolidate.

Hon. Nathaniel argued that the party must carefully consider whether it can retain internal cohesion and electoral strength without the former IGP, stressing that Adamu’s political capital has grown to a level where his exclusion could create a strategic vacuum difficult to manage.
