Monguno Condemns Boko Haram Attacks, Honours Fallen Soldiers and Civilians in Borno

The Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Borno North, Mohammed Tahir Monguno, has strongly condemned the latest wave of Boko Haram attacks that struck communities in Ngoshe, Konduga, Kukawa, and other parts of Borno State, resulting in the deaths of both soldiers and civilians.
Describing the attacks as “barbaric, cowardly, and a direct attack on the Nigerian state,” Senator Monguno mourned the tragic loss of gallant officers and men of the Armed Forces who paid the ultimate price while defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

Among the fallen were two commanding officers, Lt. Col. Iliyasu and Lt. Col. Umar Farouq, who died while leading their troops in the fight against the insurgents.
“Our fallen heroes died defending our nation and protecting innocent lives. Their sacrifice will forever remain a symbol of courage, patriotism, and national duty. May the souls of our fallen heroes rest in perfect peace,” Monguno stated in a solemn message.
The Senator also lamented the killing of innocent civilians in Ngoshe and other affected communities, describing the attacks as heartbreaking and unacceptable. He extended his condolences to the Nigerian Army, the families of the victims, and the people of Borno State, assuring them that the entire nation shares in their grief.
Monguno reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Armed Forces and urged Nigerians to remain united and resolute in the fight against terrorism. He also called for continued prayers and moral support for troops on the frontlines who risk their lives daily to restore peace and security in the North-East.
As Borno continues to mourn the devastating attacks, Monguno’s remarks stand as both a tribute to the fallen and a call for national unity in the ongoing battle against insurgency.
