Mopamuro APC Aspirants Agree on Consensus Candidate for Yagba Federal Constituency

Aspirants from Mopamuro Local Government Area under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) seeking to represent the Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives have agreed to present a consensus candidate.

The aspirants reached the decision during a strategic consultative meeting held in Abuja on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Those present at the meeting included Engr. Edward Meseko, Pastor Babagbemi Adesola, Gen. Ben Ipinyomi, Dr. Folorunsho Olafemi, and Mr. Seun Ibigbemi.

After extensive deliberations conducted in what participants described as an atmosphere of unity, mutual respect and shared commitment to Mopamuro’s collective interest, the aspirants unanimously resolved to adopt a consensus candidate, referred to as the “chosen aspirant.”

According to the group, the decision was taken voluntarily and collectively, reflecting a spirit of statesmanship and cooperation among all the aspirants involved.

They noted that the agreement demonstrates their commitment to the political advancement and unity of Mopamuro within the Yagba Federal Constituency.

The aspirants further explained that the consensus arrangement aligns with the long-standing rotational understanding established by the constituency’s forefathers, a principle designed to promote fairness, balance and harmony among the various communities within the constituency.

By speaking with one voice, the Mopamuro APC aspirants reaffirmed their dedication to collaboration, stability and the sustainable development of the constituency.

They expressed confidence that presenting a unified front would strengthen Mopamuro’s political position while preserving the spirit of unity and the rotational principles that have historically guided the political structure of the Yagba Federal Constituency.

The aspirants also pledged their full cooperation in supporting the agreed decision, assuring stakeholders of their readiness to work together to ensure its success for the benefit of Mopamuro and the entire constituency.

A spokesperson for the group expressed appreciation for the support received from other local government areas, party stalwarts and political leaders across Yagba and beyond.
