Na Our Mama Be This ooo!! Happy Mother’s Day!!

Na our mama be this ooo! We celebrate the womb that bore us the breast that we suckled, the hand that rocked our cradle, the mouth that sucked out the mucous in our nostrils , the palm that cleaned our bum-bum and the lap that our fragile body rested first on for a warm bath.
She is our mama! Not some extraneous person who knew not where, when and how we were born, nurtured and groomed.
It seems very ridiculous how people have become too pliable with things as serious as motherhood and fatherhood. Being very comfortable, ascribing fatherhood and motherhood to those who knew nothing about their birth, growth and nurturing. I am not against giving people their due respect, honouring them as they should, however, there should be a clear cut demarcation between ones mother or father from those who though may be in the age bracket of ones parents but are not ones biological parents
“*A mother is a female parent: mothers nurture and mother children. It’s also a term for an elderly woman or mother superior. Your mother is the woman who gave birth to you: mothers are parents, the female equivalent of a father*” this is the dictionary meaning of mother.
Your mother is the woman who gave birth to you! This resonates and defies every other implied meaning of mother.
It equally belies the recently trending song at Delta State School of nursing where the Mc entoned a song to welcome her excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu . *Na our mama be this oo we no get another one! The student scarcistically retorted na your mama be this ooh eeh* ! The question is , who is the Mc to show grown up students who their mother was, not only that, he said they no get another one! Imagine!!
She is the wife of President Tinubu not the mother of anybody except her biological children or those who see her as such probably because of her motherly impacts on them. It is wrong and undeserving for anybody to show one who ones mother is except in a strange situation of abandonment and separation.
It is also a conscious reawkening on us to know where to draw lines between our biological parents and those who stand in loco parentis to us.
They may have left deep and amazing impressions on us, but they can’t be our biological parents. Call them destiny helpers, role models, guardians etc they are not your parents in its strictest sense . Your mother is your mother, you can have only one mother in a life time not multiple mothers by suppositions, ingratition, hyping or through ploy to get favours from people.
Na our mama be this we no get another one na our mama be this ooh eeh! I celebrate her today and always. I celebrate her for the years of sacrifices she endured for our sake, making sure we get through life without getting lost into its lures and sweetness.
Na our mama be this ooh we no get another one na our mama be this ooh eeh! The mother who would shield us from the arrows and stones of life challenges, not losing hope , not getting frustrated and pissed by our juvenile delinquencies, rather holding us close to her with a warm embrace that reassured us of her unwavering commitment to be there through thick and tin devoid of being judged.
Happy mother’ day to her. Our mother ! We no get another one!!
Who is your mama? Who do you call mama? Who do you honor as mama? There are honors, respect , reverence and much more you don’t share with any other woman but your mother. None, no matter how nice and supportive would feel the travail of your pregnancy but your mother. Mama na mama!! Not a name to be shared with any other but your mama!
Happy mother’s day to other women and mothers out there. You are indeed the womb that incubate life. Nothing is too much for you. You all deserve all the kisses, hugs, soft life etc from your husbands and children. Mama na mama!! You make homes very conducive and habitable.
Mama na mama! No matter how bad mama is mama na mama!
I celebrate all Mamas with this song CHUKWU GOZIE NNEM
