Nasarawa denies eminent collapse of Lafia fly over commissioned by President Tinubu says claim is untrue, unfortunate

Nasarawa state government thursday denied speculations making the round that the N16bn newly constructed Lafia fly over and bypass commissioned by President Bola Tinubu is not safe for motorists.

According to the statement, “Lafia fly over and bypass is intact and safe for motorists and other users. Beware: N16bn Lafia Flyover and Underpass is intact”

“In this era of fake news and digital mischief and misinformation, it is easy to attempt to diminish the hard work of an administration doing its best to change the narrative as far as good governance is concerned.

“The social media space has been inundated with false reports about the collapse of the Ahmed Bola Tinubu Interchange in Lafia. This multibillion naira edifice is intact and remains a centrepiece of engineering excellence designed and initiated by a world-class engineer, His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State.

“It has become imperative to disabuse the minds of viewers across the length and breadth of the country regarding this purported collapse of this maverick piece of engineering.

“The fact remains that an unfortunate incident occurred in Keffi, along the Keffi-Abuja expressway, after a truck conveying a payloader at night, hit a section of the Keffi flyover, resulting in the collapse of a section of the slab supporting the bridge.

” It is unfortunate that mischief makers are taking to the social media with stories about the collapse of a section of the Ahmed Bola Tinubu Interchange in Lafia. This is not true. The Lafia Flyover is intact, as can be seen”, the statement added.

“My dear progressive people of Nasarawa and Nigeria in general, this rumor is dangerous, Nonsense. Someone is trying to sabotage Nasarawa’s progress and scare you away from using this transformational asset. don’t be fooled, stay smart Nasarawa”, the statement declared.
