NCPC Executive Secretary Reaffirms Commitment to National Unity
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for all efforts geared toward fostering unity in Nigeria. He made this known while receiving the Executive Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Abuja and District Society, at the NCPC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations of the Commission.
Bishop Adegbite expressed gratitude to the ICAN team for their courtesy visit, describing the institute as one of Nigeria’s most reputable bodies committed to integrity. He underscored the significance of record-keeping and accountability, linking them to Christian principles, and noting that “every individual will give account of their stewardship on earth.”
The NCPC helmsman reiterated the Commission’s dedication to capacity-building through continuous staff training aimed at improving service delivery and institutional efficiency. He also assured the ICAN executives of his readiness to collaborate, stating, “My mandate goes beyond pilgrimage; it includes preaching peace—because without peace, there can be no progress.”
He called on Nigerians to work collectively to build a better country and commended President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to move the nation forward.
On his part, ICAN Abuja and District Chairman, Dr. Michael Okpara, congratulated Bishop Adegbite on his appointment and lauded the successful completion of the 2024 Main Pilgrimage exercise. He appealed for support, especially sponsorship for ICAN members within the Commission, ahead of the 2025 Annual Accountants Conference scheduled for October.
