NCPC tasks Pilgrims on peaceful conduct
The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC Bishop Stephen Adegbite has called on Christian Pilgrims currently in Holy Land to be agent of peace and allow the title of Jerusalem Pilgrims, JP, reflect in their character, and spiritual life .
Bishop Stephen Adegbite who made the call during the JP ceremony organized for the first set of Christian Pilgrims in Nazareth urged them to shun negative tendencies and emulate a lifestyle worthy of emulation.
Represented by the Federal commissioner representing South West in the Board of NCPC Mrs Omowumi Ogunlola, the NCPC Boss commended the Pilgrims for living up to expectations in the Holy Land.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for facilitating this year’s pilgrimage despite the challenges posed by the militant group’s attack on Israel last October.
Also Speaking, the Acting Charge de Affairs of the Nigeria Embassy in Israel, Mr Ode Ikwe congratulated the Pilgrims for the positive reports about them which is a testament to the NCPC’s stance on achieving zero abscondment of Pilgrims in Holy Land.
The Chairman of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board Bishop Akinpelu Johnson thanked God for the opportunity to return to the Holy Land of Israel noting that the last time Pilgrims were in Israel was in October 2023 when the war broke out.
