NiMet DG, Charles Anosike, Wins Aviation Sector CEO of the Year Award

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Professor Charles Anosike, has been named the Aviation Sector CEO of the Year 2024 by Independent Newspapers Limited.
Anosike was honored at a ceremony held at the Expo Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, in recognition of his proactive leadership and contributions to NiMet’s transformation.
According to his citation, the award acknowledges NiMet’s crucial role in supporting various socio-economic sectors through strategic partnerships with local and international institutions. It also highlighted the agency’s early warning systems, which help prevent loss of lives and property, particularly due to climate change-induced flooding.
Anosike dedicated the award to NiMet’s staff and management, while also appreciating the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, for his leadership.
Keyamo was also honored at the event, receiving the ‘Minister of the Year 2024’ award.
