NNPC Reaffirms Commitment to Strategic Partnerships for Sustainable Downstream Growth

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has reiterated that building strategic partnerships is vital to unlocking value, promoting sustainability, and accelerating commercialization across Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.

, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, stated this at the 2025 Inaugural Annual Downstream Petroleum Week organized by the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), held at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

Ojulari, represented by the Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mr. Mumuni Dagazau, emphasized that the future of the sector depends on collaboration and coordinated investment.

“The opportunity to create a sustainable economy for today and the future is hinged on supply partnership, infrastructure co-investments, security partnerships, host community cooperation, and operational alliances,” he said. “Everyone needs to get involved in the activities that will ultimately create a sustainably promising future for Nigeria.”

Describing Nigeria’s downstream sector as one marked by transition, opportunity, and reform, Ojulari highlighted that collaboration among stakeholders is key to building a sustainable energy future. He noted that as Africa’s energy demand continues to rise, Nigeria must take the lead through shared responsibility, innovation, and coherent policies to drive inclusive and lasting sectoral growth.

On domestic operations, the NNPC boss reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining steady fuel supply, competitive pricing, and quality assurance across its nationwide retail network. He stressed that NNPC remains focused on ensuring energy security and advancing partnerships that promote downstream market stability.

Ojulari also commended the National Assembly and the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) for hosting the strategic forum, describing it as a vital platform for fostering innovation and tackling challenges in the downstream segment.

Themed “Celebrating Our Successes, Confronting Our Challenges, and Finding Solutions for the Petroleum Downstream Sector,” the event brought together industry players, regulators, and lawmakers dedicated to shaping Nigeria’s energy future.
