NSHA to MDGs: Adhere strictly to prudent management, budgetary provisions

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation has urged government Ministries, Departments and Agencies to ensure prudent management of government resources and always adhere strictly to budgetary provisions to avoid over spending, transparency and accountability.

Chairman of the Committee and member representing Awe North, Hon. Hudu A Hudu gave the charge when he received the Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Planning, Hajiya Munnirat Abdullahi on budget assessment Wednesday in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

The Lawmaker charged the commissioner to ensure transparency and accountability in the disbursement of funds to various ministries, departments and agencies in-line with constitutional provisions to achieve the desired results.

While describing finance ministry as engine room of government he advised the ministry to always strike a balance in releasing funds to MDAs by carrying all along to enable them deliver effectively without hitches.

Hon. Hudu tasked the Commissioner to ensure prudent management of government resources and make sure that all the issues raised and observations made by the House are adhere strictly to especially working in line with budgetary provisions for the overall progress of the State.

He encouraged the ministry to always considered prompt releases to ministries to enable them executes people’s oriented projects and for smooth administration in-line with Governor Sule’s administration policy trust.

He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for giving the needed attention to finance ministry at all times.

Also speaking, the Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Planning, Hajiya Munnirat Abdullahi who spoke through the Permanent Secretary of the ministry Polinus Felix Wahe lauded the chairman of the committee and members for being supportive at all times calling for its sustenance.

Hajiya Abdullahi assured the chairman that the ministry will continue to work in-line with constitutional provisions and adherence to the budget provisions.
