The Director General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has applauded the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) for its notable accomplishments since its establishment, describing the Institute’s progress as “giant strides.”
This commendation was issued in a statement by Nkem Anyata-Lafia, Special Assistant to the NTAC DG (Media & Publicity).
Rt. Hon. Buba gave the commendation during the Institute’s 2nd Founders’ Day celebration held on Thursday in Abuja. The occasion also featured the induction of new members, professional practitioners, and Fellows of the Institute, alongside the presentation of awards to several deserving individuals.
The ceremony, chaired by Hon. Justice Moore Abraham Aseimo of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, drew several distinguished guests, including the CIFCFIN Founder and Pioneer President, Dr. Iliyasu Buba Gashinbaki; Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Alh. Mairiga Aliyu Katuga; and the Registrar/CEO and Secretary to the Council of CIFCFIN, Dr. Isa Egah Salifu.
Other attendees included former EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu; representatives of the Development Bank of Nigeria; the Inspector General of Police; and the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), along with numerous senior government officials and stakeholders of the Institute.

In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Buba expressed delight at CIFCFIN’s achievements, noting that its steady growth underscores an unwavering commitment to professionalism in the fields of forensics and fraud investigation—areas he described as vital to Nigeria’s ongoing fight against corruption and economic crime.
Among those honoured at the event was the NTAC DG himself, whose role as sponsor of the Bill establishing the Institute received widespread recognition.
The event concluded with an official photo session involving the Institute’s leadership and invited dignitaries.
