The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has said that Nigerians will for a long time remember the remarkable contributions of Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar to the nation’s leadership.
Buba stated this on Thursday in Abuja in a birthday message to the diplomat, who turned 59 yesterday.

He prayed that God grants the Minister more wisdom and strength of body and mind to continue serving Nigeria in various capacities.
The message, titled “Happy Birthday to a Leader, Scholar and Patriot,” reads:
“I have the honour to indeed join your numerous well-wishers, admirers and protégés across the globe to celebrate your birthday as you mark another milestone in the journey of life.
“As is publicly known, your wisdom, personal sacrifices, characteristic brilliance and the nationalistic ethos you have demonstrated in the service of our nation over the years clearly distinguish you as a leader whose memories will linger long in the heart of the nation.
“As you celebrate this milestone, we who are privileged to have crossed paths with you over the years will continue to appreciate you for all that you represent to us and to the nation.
“For myself and my family, and on behalf of the management and staff of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps, which by the grace of God, the magnanimity of our dear President and the guidance of your kind self I currently lead, we pray that you continually receive the wisdom and the strength of mind and body as you serve our nation and people in diverse capacities.
“May Allah (SWT) bless your new age, Honourable Minister,” the message concluded.
Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, OON, a former member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives and the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, has in recent years under the Tinubu administration continued to redefine Nigeria’s foreign policy goals through several innovative and pragmatic initiatives, including the Tinubu Doctrine — the 4-D foreign policy framework of Democracy, Development, Demography and the Diaspora.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by the Bauchi State-born politician and diplomat, has at different times during the current administration been adjudged the best-performing ministry by various authorities across the country and beyond.
Ambassador Tuggar is widely regarded for his deep intellect and engaging personality, which he brings to bear in public leadership.
