NUJ FCT Council Celebrates Mothers on Mothering Sunday

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has joined millions around the world in celebrating mothers on the special occasion of Mothering Sunday.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Secretary of the Council, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, paid tribute to the strength, love, and sacrifices of mothers, particularly those in the journalism profession, who continue to balance their careers with family responsibilities.

He highlighted the crucial role women play in shaping society, nurturing future generations, and upholding the values of truth and integrity.

“As journalists, we deeply appreciate the resilience of female journalists who skillfully manage the demands of their profession while fulfilling their responsibilities as mothers and caregivers. May this day serve as a reminder of their immense contributions to our homes, workplaces, and the nation at large,” Oyekunle stated.

The NUJ FCT Council called on society to continue supporting and uplifting mothers, ensuring that their efforts are recognized and rewarded.

The council also wished all mothers a joyous and fulfilling Mothering Sunday.
