Operation Hadin Kai Troops Foil Terrorist Infiltration from Mandara Mountains into Bitta
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have successfully foiled an early-morning attempt by terrorists advancing from the Mandara Mountains to infiltrate Bitta, neutralising several insurgents and significantly degrading their operational capacity.
The operation took place in the early hours of December 18, 2025, after troops, aided by advanced surveillance assets, detected suspicious movements by terrorists heading toward the area.
Displaying tactical discipline and professionalism, the troops allowed the advancing elements to move within an effective engagement range before launching a well-coordinated defensive response.
The ensuing encounter led to the neutralisation of several terrorists, including a notable commander and his cameraman.
As the remaining insurgents tried to retreat, the Air Component of OPHK executed follow-up precision strikes, further inflicting losses on the fleeing elements and disrupting their withdrawal routes.
In the aftermath, troops conducted a comprehensive exploitation of the area, resulting in the recovery of a cache of terrorist weapons, equipment and logistics.
Recovered items included a camcorder, AK-47 rifles, bandoliers, handheld radios, 11 AK-47 magazines loaded with ammunition, seven mobile phones, PKT machine guns, multiple belts of PKT and GPMG linked ammunition, as well as motorcycles and bicycles.
Further examination of the area revealed several blood trails and shallow graves, suggesting additional casualties suffered by the terrorists during the ground engagement and subsequent air strikes.
Troops’ morale and combat efficiency remain high as sustained operations continue to deny terrorists freedom of action and safeguard communities within the Area of Responsibility.
Operation HADIN KAI troops have reiterated their resolve to decisively eliminate all terrorist elements and restore enduring peace and stability across the North-East region.
