President Biden’s Dog, Commander, Bites Secret Service Officer for the 11th Time
By Iyojo Ameh
In a recurring and concerning incident, President Biden’s pet German shepherd, Commander, has once again bitten a member of the Secret Service, marking the 11th such occurrence at either the White House or the Biden family residence.
The latest incident unfolded on Monday night, with the Secret Service releasing a statement on Tuesday confirming the attack. The officer involved in the incident received prompt medical attention on the premises.
Anthony Guglielmi, spokesperson for the Secret Service, detailed the event, stating, “Yesterday around 8 pm, a Secret Service Uniformed Division police officer came in contact with a First Family pet and was bitten.”
This ongoing pattern of incidents involving Commander has raised questions about the safety of White House personnel.
White House Press Secretary had previously attributed the dog’s aggressive behavior to the stress of living in the White House environment.
Fortunately, none of the injuries resulting from Commander’s bites have been described as serious. In addition to Commander, the Biden family’s other dog, Major, has also been involved in multiple biting incidents with Secret Service agents. Major has since been relocated and now resides with friends of the Biden family.
Commander initially arrived at the White House in 2021 as a puppy, gifted to President Biden by his brother, James.
