Princess Nnabuife Calls for Support for Anambra State Government
By Ekuson Nw’Ogbunka ,Abuja
Princess Clara Chinwe Nnabuife, a member of the House of Representatives, has called on her constituents to continue supporting the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo as it works to reposition Anambra State as a centre for business, industry, and technology.
Nnabuife, who represents Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, made the appeal while reflecting on the progress recorded by the state under Soludo’s leadership.
According to her, although challenges remain, Anambra State is being guided by a focused and committed leadership. “I want to tell my constituents that we have our challenges, but thank God, we have a working governor that is taking Anambra State to the next level,” she said.
The lawmaker disclosed that she co-sponsored a bill seeking the creation of Etiti State and is also actively advocating for the reservation of seats for women in legislative houses.
Describing the process as gradual, Nnabuife noted that steady progress is being made. “We are getting there; the advocacy is on,” she stated.
She stressed the need for increased female representation in governance, pointing to the critical roles women play in society. “Look at the home, they play vital roles; they are caregivers, even as single mothers,” she said.
Nnabuife further highlighted the contributions of women across sectors, including healthcare, education, and politics, arguing that their involvement in lawmaking is essential.
Countering the notion that women do not support one another, she cited her personal experience in her constituency. She revealed that her people fondly refer to her as “Ahia Oma N’ere Onwe Ya,” a reflection of her grassroots engagement and impact.
The legislator outlined some of her achievements, which include empowerment programmes, construction of roads and classroom blocks, as well as the installation of solar-powered street lights.
Assuring her constituents of continued service, Nnabuife said there is still more to be done. “They ain’t seen anything,” she remarked, emphasizing her commitment to effective legislation.
Looking ahead, she reaffirmed her focus on delivering the dividends of democracy through impactful laws and projects that directly benefit her constituents.
Nnabuife also expressed confidence in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), describing it as “the party to beat” in Anambra State.
She concluded by urging her constituents to give their full support to the governor and lawmakers in order to achieve the state’s development objectives.
