By Iyojo Ameh
The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), has issued a stern warning against any form of racketeering or fraudulent activities in the forthcoming Nigeria Police Force (NPF) recruitment exercise.
During a courtesy visit to the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Kayode Oladele, in Abuja on Wednesday, Argungu emphasized the PSC’s zero-tolerance stance on sharp practices in the recruitment process, which will soon begin for Cadet ASPs and Inspectors.
Argungu, who was accompanied by Justice Paul Adamu Galumje, PSC Commissioner representing the Judiciary, stressed the need for transparency, equity, and strict adherence to federal character principles. He declared that the era of discretionary waivers or backdoor replacements was over.

In his remarks, Hon. Oladele welcomed the collaboration, describing it as a step towards strengthening national cohesion, public trust, and fairness in public institutions. He emphasized that a diverse and inclusive police force is crucial to national peace and the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The FCC Chairman also pledged full cooperation with the PSC to ensure federal character compliance and transparency in the police recruitment process.
