A traumatic incident has left a young Nigerian man crestfallen after his newly built home in Ejeba, Delta State, was gutted by fire barely two weeks after he moved in.

The tragic event was first reported by a lady on social media who wrote, “This happened at Ejeba. A young man’s newly built house went up in flames and it’s not even up to 2 weeks the guy packed in. The fire started due to wrong solar panel connection.”

A video circulating online showed thick plumes of smoke and intense flames consuming the building, with neighbours and passersby watching helplessly as the inferno raged on.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the fire, suspected to have started from a faulty solar panel installation, quickly spread through the structure, leaving the homeowner with heavy losses.

As of the time of this report, it is unclear whether any emergency services responded to the blaze, and the total extent of the damage has yet to be officially assessed.
