The Road Safety Officers Wives Association, ROSOWA, says it will commence advocacy in secondary schools against underage driving to amplify the dangers inherent across the country.

The President, Dr Nafisat Shehu-Mohammed stated this during the send-forth ceremony organised in honour of the immediate past president of the Association, Hajia Aisha Dauda-Biu in Abuja.

Dr Nafisat Shehu-Mohammed said that underage driving had been a menace in the society, adding that the association wants to reduce it to the barest minimum.

“I can’t imagine we as parents leaving our younger children to drive without the right age. We are trying to see how we can clamp it down to the barest minimum in our society.”

“Like I said earlier, secondary schools is our catchment area because that is where we can propagate, where we can talk, educate, and advocate that.

The ROSOWA President commended past presidents of the association, especially the founder, Mrs Rhoda Hananiya, who she said worked tirelessly in creating and nurturing the association.

She assured that the new executives will follow her footsteps by organising skill acquisition programmes and embarking on projects that would benefit everyone.
