Senate Committee on Army Honours Fallen Soldiers

The Nigerian Senate Committee on Army has expressed deep condolences to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, over the unfortunate death of Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Saidu Paiko and other soldiers who lost their lives in Borno State.

In a statement signed by the Committee Chairman, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the Committee described the fallen soldiers as true patriots and heroes who demonstrated exceptional courage, professionalism, and dedication in the service of the nation.

The statement read in part: “On behalf of the Senate Committee on Army, I extend our heartfelt condolences to you, the Nigerian Army, and the families of the gallant officers and soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.”

The Committee reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Nigerian Army in its operations and welfare efforts, noting: “We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the Nigerian Army is provided with the necessary resources and support to sustain peace and security across the country.”

It also extended its deepest sympathies to the bereaved families, praying that Almighty Allah grants the fallen heroes Jannatul Firdaus and comforts their loved ones in this time of grief.

The statement concluded: “May their sacrifices never be in vain, and may their bravery continue to inspire us all to build a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.”
