Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has commenced the installation of solar-powered street lights across the Sokoto North Senatorial Zone, beginning with Sokoto North and Sokoto South Local Government Areas. The initiative aims to eliminate darkness in key communities and improve nighttime visibility across the area.

According to aides of the former governor, the project is designed to enhance security, improve visibility, and stimulate economic activities in Sokoto State. Residents of Nufawa have already begun benefiting from the project, expressing appreciation and offering prayers for continued wisdom and strength for Senator Wamakko as the installations transform their surroundings.
The intervention will be extended to six additional towns across Binji, Gudu, Kware, Tangaza, Silame, and Wamakko Local Government Areas. The expanded rollout is expected to further improve safety, encourage longer business hours, and promote economic growth across the state.
Community leaders have also pledged to protect the solar installations from vandalism, describing the project as a timely and impactful intervention that will positively affect daily life in the affected areas.
