The Limitless Power In The Eucharist.

Tomorrow is Sunday, the day many of my parishioners have time yo come for Mass. Weekdays are usually very busy for them. Working nine hours to make ends meet. The economy is “very good” and by God’s grace we would survive it without having our faith and beliefs compromised.

I feel I should talk a bit on the Eucharist and the very power that it embodies. The Eucharist, the body and blood of Jesus, one unique gift to the body of Christ. It sets Catholic apart from other demoninations. No other has it the way Catholic has it, and the power and miracles that it embodies, very soul lifting.

Each time words of consecration are said, the priest one sees as human takes the place of Jesus. The hands that raise the chalice and the patern are no more his, but that of Christ.

The mysteries that occur within that few minutes are deep, only a soul that connects and focuses with rapt attention gets the glimpse of the power , grace and miracle that flow from the altar tosouls willing, ready and pure.

No time at Mass should one lose concentration, greater attention however should be mustered during consecration. Shun every distractions both external and internal. Pour into the chalice of his blood your worries, pains, disappointment, expectations etc and watch how the blameless blood of Jesus fixes them with precision.

Be careful how you receive the Eucharist. It is not a piece of white chocolate, or a slice of bread, it is the body and blood of Jesus. The weight it carries for those who maximise it pulls down illness, destroys infirmities, crushes worries and pulps into shreds oppressions, possession and depression.

Know how to recieve him without condemnation, you would have been home and dry.

For St Maria Faustina The courage and strength that are in me are not of me, but of Him who lives in me — it is the Eucharist.”

For St.Thomas Aquinas: “The Eucharist is the sacrament of love: it signifies love, it produces love. The Eucharist is the consummation of the whole spiritual life.”

Treat the Eucharist with love, honour and respect and get the fullness of blessings it embodies. Sadly the disposition of many Catholics after receiving the Eucharist very dishonorable. It is Jesus one recieves not chewing gum. That piece of white bread, may seem common, but in it could be a redefining moment in ones life. Until one becomes very conscious and reverential to the Eucharist, reception may occur but the positive effects of such reception, its healing and prophylactic power unbenefited.

See you tomorrow with a better reverential disposition , walking through the aisles to the altar to recieve him worthily.
