Toward God Without the Google Map
By Dr jalarth Uche Opara
God is the way, the truth, and the life. He is not a road constructed by any engineer. He is the way Himself. He is not truth spoken by someone and seeking for validation. He is truth himself.
He is not life discovered in another being. He is life himself, indestructible and self-existent.
Approaching God through the Google Map of doctrine, dogma, and accumulated human knowledge may be useful but it is not the best way. While it can guide, it can also limit; while it can instruct, it can confine the vast possibilities of encountering the Infinite God.
When God called Abraham, there was no doctrine, no dogma, no theological Google roadmap. It was a direct, personal encounter. Elijah and Elisha walked with God through seamless and boundless communication.
Heaven was not filtered through manuals or mediated by systems , it was relational, immediate, alive, real time.
Moses too belonged to this non-Google process of divine interaction, Noah and Enoch enjoyed it too . They did not download instructions; they ascended into his presence for real time instructions and fellowship.
Each day with God is new.
What worked yesterday may not be sufficient for today. An instruction that was valid this morning must be revisited and cross checked, seeking for revalidation before tomorrow’s task.
With God, relevance is never assumed it is discerned. Doctrine and dogma are not evil. They are useful especially for beginners, for those still learning the contours of the road, the bends, the valleys, and the crossings access the way , the truth and life.
Like Google Maps, they help those who have not yet developed spiritual sensitivity to the terrain.
But for those who have journeyed long enough on the road , for those who have walked with the Way Himsel Google becomes optional.
When you know the Way personally, you no longer need external directions to access Him.
Relationship replaces navigation. Presence replaces prescriptions.
And intimacy solves what information never could.
Nobody needs Google map to get to their houses or places they worship daily. With closed eyes, they get there without missing their ways.
Goggle of doctrines and dogma is good for beginners but delimiting to old drivers.
