Tragedy in Anambra: Man Allegedly Lures Pregnant Nurse With Sick Mother’s Illness, Murders and Dismembers Her

A tragic incident has occurred in Umueri village, Ogbunike, in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, where a pregnant nurse was allegedly murdered by a man identified as Chiemelie Oborj, who lured her using a false claim that his mother was ill and needed urgent medical attention.

According to a viral video circulating on Facebook, the unsuspecting nurse responded to the distress call, only to be brutally attacked upon arrival. The suspect reportedly butchered her and fled the scene immediately after committing the heinous act.

A member of the community, using the social media handle Iroko Ogbunike, shared disturbing footage suggesting that the victim’s body had been mutilated and dumped in a pit near the suspect’s compound. The video revealed that vital organs had been removed, raising strong suspicions of ritual motives behind the killing.

The source stated: “Unconfirmed reports indicate that parts of her body were missing, pointing to a possible ritual murder. The community is in deep shock as security operatives intensify efforts to apprehend the suspect.”

In the video, some community members are seen retrieving the nurse’s remains from the pit. A youth who participated in the recovery expressed outrage over the gruesome murder and declared the suspect, Chiemelie, wanted by the community.

While the video continues to circulate widely online, no official statement has been issued by the Anambra State Police Command. Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, for confirmation were unsuccessful as his phone line was unreachable at the time of filing this report.
