When God Becomes Our Good Samaritan!

The many theology and philosophy that surround God’ personality is one that come with a lot of confusion around the perceived principles of God. It becomes more scaring when the thought of going to hell, a place of perdition in eternity becomes a place for those creatures of Him, created by Him, in His image and likeness because they died in mortal sin regardless of how good and amazing they were before sliding, oftentimes inadvertently into unrepented mortal sins. Pause and reflect on this Ezekiel 18: 24
*But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked man does, will he live? None of the righteous things he has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty of and because of the sins he has committed, he will die*. *I will bless whom I want to bless*” Romans 9:15, Do these verses portray the fairness of God?

Some passages in the bible from the perspective of the logos could be very challenging, aligning them with the nature of God as all knowing, all loving, all merciful etc makes the bible a bit contradictory. Still pause and reflect on this bible verse Genesis 6:6, “,*And the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart*” A conscious dive into the realm of rhema may dissipate the confusion in that verse. But then, not everybody has the grace to dig that deep where the well of divine water springs forth and the energy of divine light illuminates ones dark and uninformed mind for a better understanding of the mind of God concerning His creatures, especially mankind.

The story of the Good Samaritan is one that gives me a better understanding on how the relationship of God and men should be, much more explanatory and reassuring than the story of the prodigal son. I see many Christians from the light of that man beaten by robbers, unconscious, helpless and at the point of death than from the light of that prodigal son, who though came back to his sense and sought for forgiveness was afterall the architect of his ordeal.

Many Christians out of no fault of theirs have been beaten by the robbers of life challenges. Beaten into coma, helping themselves becomes impossible. Can’t, pray, can’t fast, can’t lift a finger to help themselves. Many would come to them and pass like the Priest and the Levite without lifting a finger to help. The Priest and the Levite may be the prayers, the fasting, the seed sowing, the devotions and novenas one does but still no help.

In such situation, what such person needs is the unconditional compassion of the Good Samaritan. No fasting, no prayer, no devotion, no novena, no asking of ones moral status etc, moved by compassion, he lifted the dying man unto his donkey to a place of total restoration and all debts paid.

Many Christians are in a very helpless situation. Very critical, frustrating and at worse case, hopeless.

Life challenges, strangulating them, stifling their breath, pressing them down, beaten them mercilessly to stupor. All they need is the compassion of the Good Samaritan for them to live again, not the doctrines, dogma and observance of liturgical principles of the priest and levite

Take census of Christians who died, or swallowed by the challenges they fasted for, prayed about, sowed seed unto, the number very alarming.

What they need for a new breath of life is the conditional compassion of the Good Samaritan.

When the theology of God’ nature fails. When the doctrines and dogmas built around Him seem not to be productive, when the principles built around Him by human intelligence is not effective and the application of the biblical verses stale and futile in ones situation, pleading He becomes ones Good Samaritan , may be ones exit door out of ones frustration.

When God becomes your Good Samaritan, he judges not your past, nothing deters him, poised and determined to save, restore and liberate unconditionally becomes his goal. He would just lift you, put you on his horse, ride you straight to an inn where liberation, deliverance and restoration take place without questioning your past.

Oh God Be my Good Samaritan!!
