Wike De FCT Zeus

To some, he is in his very late fifties. Such widely held view had a drastic shift recently during the 60th birthday of Sen. Sam Anyanwu at Ahmed Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre Abuja.

Sen. Sam-Daddy Anyanwu is the current National Secretary of PDP. We were all witnesses to the legal tussles that weaved around it and how he got victory through the pronoucement of the Supreme Court.

As the Special Guest of Honour of the birthday event Mr. Wike spoke eloquently as usual with scarcism . Threw tantrums, cast aspersion with innuendos and once in a while had his signature tunes and dance steps to pepper them .

He spoke like the Zeus of FCT, who holds the knife and the yam, slicing out chunks of yam and giving to those he pleases, ready to spill and sprew thunder in words against his percieved enemies.

One wonders what could possibly be Mr Wike’ age if Sam-Dandy who is 60 years could be referred and addressed by him as his junior. Could it be a humor, a jokeor some kind of pedestrian political jab to pepper them, his political enemies and rivals?

Anyway, whatever it was or orchestrated to achieve, the truth is Mr. Wike has started to feel like a demi god in the political space of Nigeria.

His demeanor lacking decorum, his communication skills wierd and sarcastic, his ego overblown, laced with this unusual sense of invincibility.

His recent peace agreement and reconciliation with Mr. Fubura and the various conditions attached for peace to reign a clear manifestation of his power of influence, relevance and godish mien uncensored.

The truth is, power is transient. It is ephemeral, very finite and could turn around 360 degrees in a jiffy. The Adolf Hitlers, the Mammar Gaddafis, the Saddam Hussein, The Abachas, the Herods, The Nebuchadnezzars, etc they all reigned at a time with power and influence uncensored, with time they all fizzled leaving us with the memories created by their actions.

Mr. Wike seems drunk with his new invincible status, having the backings of Mr. President, having some of his Party members by his side and having his State Party structure in his pocket.

He is in his political El-dorado today. Tommorow remains vague and bleak. Anything can happen.

Be calming down bro. Wike! If President Tinubu could jettison Nasir El rufia, force Ganduje to resign, getting you off and hauling you into the scrap pan for a better oxygen for his political future wouldn’t cause him sleepless night. I feel I should call your attention to it. Power no matter how powerful is transitional.

You may be the Zeus , the god of the sky and thunder and ruler of the Olympian gods. Known for his immense power, including the ability to control the weather and hurl lightning bolts. But you are not God. Empires rise and fall.

Today may be your salutary political moment, tomorrow, your whirlwind, you hurricane and tsunami, reducing to rubrics whatever political Empires you may have built however formidable and impregnable it may look now. Calm down! There is more to life than political achievement and power grabbing. Humanity in all these shouldn’t be triffled and trashed underfoot
