At a recent International Women’s Day event, women in the media industry were encouraged to embrace mentorship and collaboration as key strategies for national development.
Guest Speaker Rev. George Ehusani praised women in media for their dedication to amplifying voices and fostering leadership within the industry.

He emphasized the crucial role women play in shaping narratives and driving sustainable national progress.
Dr. Abiodun Essiet, Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement for Nigeria’s North Central Region, highlighted that leadership should be seen not as charity but as a strategic tool to motivate women to engage in ventures that contribute value to society.
Earlier in the program, Mrs. Lilian Anene, the event’s convener, urged leaders to establish systems that ensure women are not only present but also influential and empowered to actively participate in decision-making processes.
