Queen Ambassador Ayoola Ronke Fakunle Olasode, Women Leader of the National Assembly Legislative Aides Forum, Women Wing, has emphasized the need for Nigerians to rally behind government efforts in addressing insecurity and promoting peace across the nation.

She made the call on Sunday in Abuja in a message to mark the 2025 World Peace Day, commemorated annually on September 21.

Speaking on this year’s theme, “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” Olasode described it as a wake-up call to ensure peace is sustained in every part of the country.

Olasode, who also serves as Director of Human Capital and Humanitarian Affairs for the Remi Tinubu Support Organisation, noted that Nigeria is richly endowed with human and natural resources capable of positioning it among the world’s strongest economies.

“As we join the rest of the world to celebrate this day, it reminds us of the constant need to advocate peaceful coexistence,” she said. “The theme, ‘Act Now for a Peaceful World,’ is a call to prevent violence and avoid actions capable of undermining the peace we enjoy as a people. We must work with the Federal Government as it rolls out policies that will move us from challenges to the promised land.”

She further stressed the importance of collaboration across all levels of government to minimize insecurity, unemployment, violence, and injustice in the country.

Olasode also called for deliberate steps to tackle gender discrimination and other forms of inequality while urging individuals to avoid conflict triggers in homes, workplaces, communities, and the nation at large.

“We must bridge the gap between the rich and the poor and contribute our quota to a stronger and more stable economy,” she said. “Nigeria is the only country we can call home, and we must do everything possible to ensure sustainable growth and development. As the giant of Africa, we must live up to this name because many nations, especially in Africa, are looking up to us.”

She concluded by calling for collective efforts to make Nigeria great again.
